In March 2011, the U-Map national approach started in Portugal. Within the framework of the U-Map LLL project, agreement was reached regarding the commitment of the Boards of the Portuguese Rector’s Conference (CRUP), the Portuguese Association of Private Universities and Polytechnics (APESP), and the Coordinating Committee of the Portuguese Polytechnic Institutes (CCISP) – as the three representative bodies of the Portuguese higher education institutions. This U-Map project is funded with the support of the European Commission. The Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education informally supports the project by providing information regarding some key issues of the Portuguese higher education system.
A large number of Portuguese higher education institutions will be given the opportunity to participate and have their own U-Map activity profile generated. The project will be finalized after Summer 2011.
